Roger Ruganzu

Roger is a graduate of Southern New Hampshire University with a master’s degree in Community Mental Health and Counseling, and also holds a degree in Law from Free University of Kigali (ULK) in Rwanda. He spent more than 12 years working in various settings such as inpatient hospitals, residential programs for patients with severe psychological disorders, Intellectual Development Disability (IDD) populations, and step-down Intellectual Mental Disability (IMDs). He is trained in evidence-based practices including motivational interviewing, crisis prevention intervention, trauma-focused cognitive behavior training therapy, and behavioral health professional.

For six years, Roger has been a certified Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation and First Aid (CPR & FA) instructor and has experience teaching suicide prevention. He maintains an active role in the training and development of Serenity Residential Care staff and house managers and believes that a positive and supportive approach is the key to helping others be their best. He has experience working with homeless and immigrant populations, caseworkers, the state Crisis team, state guardians, law enforcement, and other providers.
